MSW opens Kawasaki Laboratory

March 3rd, 2025

MJOLNIR SPACEWORKS Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Sapporo, Hokkaido, CEO: Viscor Tor, hereinafter referred to as “MSW”), a company aiming to mass-produce hybrid rocket engines and space-grade tanks, is pleased to announce the establishment of its new development hub, “Kawasaki Lab,” at the Kawasaki Business Incubation Center (KBIC) in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, starting from March 1, 2025. This new facility will serve as one of MSW’s key locations for the development of rocket engine and tank technologies.

With the addition of Kawasaki Lab, MSW now operates across three locations: the Sapporo Headquarters, the Tokyo Office, and the newly established Kawasaki Lab.

MSW’s Vision and Business Goals

MSW’s mission is to enable a future where rockets can be launched and manufactured anywhere in the world by mass-producing and supplying rocket engines and space-grade components.

Traditionally, the space industry has relied on custom-made components for rocket development, leading to high costs and long development timelines. MSW aims to revolutionize the industry by developing mass-producible rocket engines and space tanks, ultimately transitioning to a catalog-based sales model. This approach will allow space companies to procure rocket components as easily as selecting bolts from a catalog, fostering a mature industrial market for rockets and satellites—akin to the automobile industry.

Through these efforts, MSW seeks to accelerate space development both in Japan and globally, contributing to the advancement of humankind.
